The interior furniture of houseboats is made of either cane or wood, floor carpeted with coir mat or wood panels. Eco friendly materials like bamboo are being used for furniture. The crew on board is experienced and highly professional. The crew generally comprises of the captain, an oarsman and the chef.The kitchen in the houseboat is well maintained and the food is prepared fresh and hygienically. The availability of fish all along the backwaters makes fresh catch for the mouth watering lunch. Fresh vegetables and fruits are used and purchased locally to support the economy of the village. The living area has comfortable seating options and the dining area is spacious. TV/DVD facilities are available on board. The bedrooms have double cots and space for extra bed is also there. There are luggage compartments and wardrobes. Clean and high quality linen, blankets, towels, and kitchenware are used in the houseboats. Luxury houseboats have complete glass windows stretching across 3/4ths of the wall to offer the guests a complete and uninterrupted view of the backwaters. Lifesavers and safety jackets are available on board. Onboard game activities are also available in some boats. Guests can also try their luck at fishing. Mosquito repellants are available on board. Air conditioning is available in the evenings when the boat is anchored. In Luxury boats, AC operates for the whole day. Many houseboats have solar energy panels for lighting at night. Others use kerosene / hurricane lamps suspended at several places, producing a romantic aura in the evenings. Solar energy is also used in refrigeration and air conditioning. Houseboats have all splendid facilities and royal ambience just like the leisure hotels and resorts, and what's more, all these luxuries are offered in a floating semblance in the shimmering backwaters of God's Own Country.
